seeing from a distance
While the clock was about to strike midnight on December 31st 2024, I've had been scrolling on Instagram for (at least) the last 2 hours. After the fireworks went off, I noticed that something too was also off. I have always loved the night before a new year being spent with family, friends and loved ones but on that day I was accompanied by Meta alone.
This made me reflect on the role that social media has been playing on my life. Even though I was supposed to not feel alone, for the last 5 years loneliness has never been greater following me from the moment I stood from bed to the moment I came back to it.
The truth is that no one there actually cared about me or anything that I was showing. Not only that but it was a fierce competition of whoever was doing best at life. And I've seen enough of unique journeys to understand that each people have their own pace.
So I have decided to follow mine.
This is my first post in this small space I have claimed on the internet as I distance myself from big media.
So if you made it this far, welcome to my Tape Archive, a place where my memories will be preserved as .html text files, .jpg images and .mp3 noises.
I hope you enjoy it as much as I do.
